It has a creamy sauce without any milk. Pam likes it with a lot of the turnip cream sauce. She often forgets to add the french-fried onions because she does not consider it actual food. Recently, though, we found a brand at Whole Foods that didn&#8217;t taste like pure lard and was actually tasty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Ingredients<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2 lbs green beans<\/li><li>1&nbsp;1\/2 medium or 1 large onion<\/li><li>french fried onions ( French\u2019s)<\/li><li>8 oz Applegate uncured low-fat bacon<\/li><li>1 medium to large white purple-top turnip<\/li><li>\u00bd cup (or enough to blend) Almond Milk (unsweetened)<\/li><li>2\/3 cup cashews<\/li><li>8 oz marinated (or smoked) tofu &#8211; Soyboy Carribean flavor was very good<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Directions<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cook bacon and chop into small pieces<\/li><li>saute onion in bacon pan<\/li><li>peel, slice, and boil turnip until soft<\/li><li>blend turnip, \u00bd to 1 cup cooked onions and almond milk to a creamy texture (about 2 cups)<\/li><li>par-boil green beans for 3 min; drain &amp; rinse with cold water<\/li><li>assemble all ingredients in a 10&#215;10&#8243; casserole (covered)<\/li><li>bake at 350 for 30 min<\/li><li>top with french-fried onions to taste<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This recipe has a lot of ingredients, but it is delicious.
